Great Northern Apiary places managed hives for crop pollination across Northern California — from the Sierra Nevada foothills down through the Sacramento Valley. We work with orchards, vineyards, row crop operations, and market gardens. Hive strength and placement timing are coordinated around your bloom window, not ours.
We do seasonal contracts and single-season placements. Pricing is per hive and built around the specific job — crop type, placement location, the length of the pollination period, and transportation. There's no flat rate, because no two placements are the same. We put together a quote once we know what we're actually dealing with.

How It Works
We talk through what you're growing, when bloom typically hits, how many acres you're covering, and what kind of access the site has. From there we'll put together a number that reflects the actual job.
Hives are placed before the main bloom window and pulled after the pollination period wraps. We check on the colonies during placement — not as a service add-on, just because that's what keeps them working well.
We stand behind the health of what we bring to your land. Weak hives don't help you, and they don't help us.
